The castle of Valmante accommodates, now, administrative premises of a health center. In 1855, Joseph Grandval, a wealthy industrialist, called "king of the sugar ", decided to build, in a still rustic suburb, a luxurious house, at the heart of a vast park endowed with a pond, and of an exotic garden.
During society parties, painters, musicians, and all that the arts and the literature count of prestigious names are gather together: Edmond Rostand, the countess of Noailles, Sarah Bernhardt, had the opportunity to stay at the castle.

Le château de Valmante abrite, désormais, les locaux administratifs d'un centre médico-social. En 1855, Joseph Grandval, un riche industriel, appelé "le roi du sucre", décide de faire construire, dans une banlieue encore campagnarde, une somptueuse demeure au cœur d'un vaste parc doté d'un étang et d'un jardin exotique.
Au cours de soirées mondaines, des peintres, des musiciens, et tout ce que les arts et la littérature comptent de noms prestigieux sont réuni : Edmond Rostand, la comtesse de Noailles, Sarah Bernhardt avaient l’occasion de rester au château.
